Prawn Fry In Kerala Style

Kerala Prawn Roast is a very simple and tasty dish in kerala style.Prawn roast is made with fresh prawns shallow fried in coconut oil with the aroma of mustard seeds, curry  leaves and coccum.


Prawns cleaned and  deveined  – 1/2 kg

Coconut oil                                       – 3 tbsp

Mustard seeds                                –  1/4 tsp

Shallots                                             – 1/2 cup

Coconut pieces                              – 1/4 cup

Curry leaves                                   – 1 spring

Kashmiri chilli powder                – 1 1/2 tsp (adjust according to our taste)

Turmeric powder                        – 1/4 tsp

Coccum                                         – 1 piece

Salt                                                   – to taste

How to cook

1. Boil prawns with kashmiri chilli powder,turmeric powder and salt.1 piece coccum also add with this.Boil it till the prawns cooked and  water evaporates.

2. Heat coconut oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds and add shallots,coconut pieces and curry leaves. Add  boiled prawns to thiswhen onions becometransparent and keep it  in low flame till it become dry.
