Paneer Butter Masala


Paneer Butter Masala one of the most famous paneer dish. Paneer Butter Masala is easy and quick to make. It can be best served with any Indian breads like naan, roti, paratha…etc.


Paneer                   -250 gm

Butter                      -1 tbsp

Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp

Red color                    -3 drops (optional)

Milk for gravy         -1 cup

Salt                             – to taste

Milk to mix to spices -1 cup

Ketchup                     -1 tbsp

Tomato paste         – 1 tsp ( optional )

Kastoorimethi  powder – 1/4 tsp

Kashmiri chilli powder  -1/4 tsp

Garam masala             – 1/4 tsp

Corriander powder    – 1 tsp

Fried onions                – 1 tsp (optional)

Cooking Method

Add oil and butter in a pan.  Adding oil prevents the butter from browning too quickly .

Then add ginger garlic paste and fried onions. (or you can add fresh onions and fry till golden brown .) Its optional .

Now take a small bowl add all the masalas (chilli powder , corriander powder, garam masala , ketchup , tomato paste , kastoorimethi , color ) mix it with 1 cup  milk and add this to the pan.cover it and cook for 3 minutes .

After  3 minutes cooking  add salt , paneer  and remaining milk for gravy . (Pour little by little and adjust the thickness. )

Just make it boil and our Paneer Butter Masala is ready to serve.


Black Forest

A chocolate layer cake decorated with whipped cream and cherries, Black Forest cake is one of the most popular sweet recipe for all age groups. Bakeries offering black forest use to make it with 2-3 layers, covered with whipping cream and cherries. Black Forest  is a delicious desert with layered chocolate cake, whipping cream, cherries and garnished with chocolate shavings.



Maida – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup powdered
Butter – 150 gm at room temp.
Egg – 3 nos.
Cocoa – 55 gm
Salt – a pinch
Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Baking soda – 1/2 tsp


Whipping cream – 1 tin
Icing sugar – 1/2 cup
Vanilla essence – 1 tsp


Chocolate shavings
Sugar syrup


Preheat oven to 180 degree celsius . Grease a 9″  baking tray and dust it with flour.
Sieve the  dry  ingredients  maida,cocoa,baking powder,baking soda,salt and keep aside.
In a bowl  beat   butter and powdered sugar very well.
Now  add  eggs to  this  mixture one by one and add vanilla essence  beat until fluffy.

Then sieve the dry ingredients (flour mix) to the  wet ingredients (butter,sugar,egg,vanilla mix) and  mix  well   with out any lumps.

Now pour this mixture in to the greased baking tray and  bake at 180 degree celsius for 40-45 minutes.

After baking remove  the cake to a wire rack.

Icing-Beat the whipping cream with sugar and vanilla essence

beat untill the cream thickens up.

Chocolate shavings – Take any  chocolate bar and grate it with a grater or peel with a potato peeler.

Sugar syrup -Take some water and add sugar to this .


After cooling the cake remove it from the cake tin.Then divide it in to equal layers of 2 or three .All the layers pierce with a fork at  random places.This helps the syrup to go inside the cake.Now take 1 layer cake as the base and apply sugar syrup on this(cherry syrup also you can use) it will make the cake moist and delicious. Then spread whipping cream over it add some pieces of cherries too. Now place one more layer on top of this and repeat the same process. Then keep the final layer of the cake and apply whipping cream all over the cake.cover it fully with whipped comes the final part  garnishing with  chocolate shavings  and cherries. Yummy  black forest cake is ready to serve.

Simple chicken curry

IMG_20151111_073256_AO_HDRThis simple chicken curry can be made very easily. It can be prepared with any ready made chicken masala or garam masala , whatever is available. Try to get the best flavourful garam masala for making this simple chicken curry.The taste depends on the masala that you used.

Simple chicken curry goes well with rice , chappathi ….etc.


Chicken       – 1/2 kg

Onion           -3 nos

Green chillies – 2 nos

Tomato         – 1

Ginger          – 2” piece

Garlic           – 6 nos

Oil                – 3 tbsp

Curry leaves – few

Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp

Chicken masala – 2 1/2 tsp (adjust according to your taste)


Cooking method

Wash the chicken thoroughly and drain off the water completely.

Heat oil in  a deep pan and crack mustard seeds then add ginger garlic paste to this . Fry till the raw smell goes off.

Add onions, green chillies, curry leaves and fry  in low  flame till  onion become golden brown.

Add chicken masala  mix well and fry it till you get an aroma.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook till it become soft.

Add chicken and salt to this mixture mix well and keep it covered for some time.(5-10 mins)

Add hot water for the chicken to cook. cover and cook  in low flame and stir in between and cook till the chicken is done. If you want you can seasoned with small onion and curry leaves. ( It is optional  )

Chilli Gopi



cauliflowert      – 1 (seperate  in to small florets)

Onion               – 1 cut in to cubes

Capcicum        _ 1 cut in to cubes

Green chillies   -2 nos

Salt                      -to taste

Oil                        – for frying

Corn flour        – 3 tbsp

Plain flour       – 3 tbsp

Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp

Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp

Ginger                 – 1 tsp chopped

Garlic                   – 1 tsp chopped

Soya sause        – 1 1/2 tsp

Tomato sause   – 3 tsp

Red chilli sause – 1 1/2 tsp

Vinegar               – 1 tsp

Sugar                  – 1 tsp

Cooking Instructions

Boil cauliflower for salty water for three minutes and drain the water completely. Then marinate it in a thick batter of corn flour, plain flour, salt, pepper powder, oil and water.Dip cauliflower in this batter and fry it till the florets become golden brown. Keep it aside.

In the same oil add ginger garlic paste, onion, capsicum, green chillies and cook it till the onions become  soft.

Now add all the sauses, pepper powder, sugar, vinegar and salt. Mix well. Finally add some corn  flour  dissolved in water to make a thick gravy. Cook well and garnished with corriander leaves and spring onion.


Prawn Fry In Kerala Style

Kerala Prawn Roast is a very simple and tasty dish in kerala style.Prawn roast is made with fresh prawns shallow fried in coconut oil with the aroma of mustard seeds, curry  leaves and coccum.


Prawns cleaned and  deveined  – 1/2 kg

Coconut oil                                       – 3 tbsp

Mustard seeds                                –  1/4 tsp

Shallots                                             – 1/2 cup

Coconut pieces                              – 1/4 cup

Curry leaves                                   – 1 spring

Kashmiri chilli powder                – 1 1/2 tsp (adjust according to our taste)

Turmeric powder                        – 1/4 tsp

Coccum                                         – 1 piece

Salt                                                   – to taste

How to cook

1. Boil prawns with kashmiri chilli powder,turmeric powder and salt.1 piece coccum also add with this.Boil it till the prawns cooked and  water evaporates.

2. Heat coconut oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds and add shallots,coconut pieces and curry leaves. Add  boiled prawns to thiswhen onions becometransparent and keep it  in low flame till it become dry.



Maida   –   1 cup

Sugar   –    3/4 cup

Butter  – 100 gms

Egg       –  4 nos

Milk       – 1/4  cup

Salt        – 1 pinch

Vanilla  essence – 1 tsp

Baking Powder  – 1  tsp

How to make

Seperate egg yolk and white.

Beat  butter , sugar and vanilla essence together.Mix until it becomes smooth.Add the egg yolks one by one and beat very well.IMG_20150619_124835

Red Velvet Cake


Cake flour – 2.5 cup (1 cup cake flour =2 tbsp. corn flour +  maida)

Cocoa Powder – 2 tbsp.

Salt – 1/2 tsp

Baking powder = 1 tsp

Red color = 2 tsp

Butter = 1/2 cup in room temp.

castor sugar = 1 1/2 cup (powdered sugar)

Vanilla essence = 1 tsp

Egg = 2 nos

Butter milk = 1 cup


1. Add all the dry ingredients and sieve together.

2.Beat butter until soft.

3.Add castor sugar to this little by little and best until it become light.

4.Then add vanilla essence and combine.

5.Add eggs one at a time and beat till the yellow color disappears.

6.Pour butter milk to this and mix well.

7.Add  some cake flour  mix it then add some color then flour then color…..

8.Add some milk to loosen the batter.

9.Now add the final ingredient

1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp baking soda mix it together then add to the batter.Mix throughly with a spatula.

Dust the cake tinand add the batter to this .Bake @180 degree celcious for 35-40 minutes.




Pineapple                              -1 medium size

Sweetened condensed milk-1 can

Milk                                       -1/2 lit.

Sugar                                     -1 tbsp

Vanilla essence                    -1/2 tsp

Gelatin                                -3 tsp


Fresh pineapple pieces



Clean and cut the pineapple in to small bite size pieces

Add 1 tbsp. of sugar to the pineapple pieces and cook it on medium heat.when the water evaporates completely,remove it from fire and keep aside.(do not overcook the pineapple pieces.)

Add condensed milk to the normal milk and cook it over medium heat.

Dissolve Gelatin in 4 tbsp of cold water.

Add vanilla essence to the milk mixture followed by Gelatin.

When the mixture thickens remove from fire and allow it to cool.

Add the pineapple pieces.Pour the mixture in to a glass bowl and refrigerate until well set.

Garnish it with fresh pineapple pieces and cherries.



Kuttanadan Duck curry is a traditional dish and it is a special dish during the occasions like Easter,Christmas.Duck recipes are a specialty of  Christian families in Kerala.There are different variations in making duck curry.In regions like Kuttanadu it is made with the skin, without adding water and is cooked in its own fat.

Duck                  = 1 kg

Oil                       = As required

Mustard seeds  = 1/2 tea spoon

Curry leaves      = some

Ginger                =  2 tbsp

Garlic                 = 2 tbsp

Big onions         = 4 nos

Tomato             = 2nos

Salt                   = As required

Green chilli  =  3 nos

Turmeric powder = 1/2 tsp

Corriander powder = 3 tbsp

Chilli powder          = 1tsp

Pepper   powder       =1 1/2 tsp

Garam masala          =1 1/2 tsp

coconut milk             = from 1 coconut.


  1. Boil duck with  turmeric poder,pepper , garam masala and keep aside.
  2. Add oil to the hot pan.
  3. Add mustard seeds,curry leaves, ginger garlic paste them saute well.
  4. Then add 4 chopped big onions and fry it till golden brown color.Then add chopped tomato to this .Put some salt also .
  5. Now add powder masalas -turmeric,corriander,chilli,pepper and mix well.Add green chilli with this.
  6. Add boiled duck to this onion mixture and mix it well.
  7. Finally add garam masala to this and boil for 10 minutes in low flame.
  8. Last part is adding coconut milk and mix well keep some more time in low flame and add some fresh curry leaves on top .
